Cpt. Emmanouil has been active in shipping since 1951 when he first embarked as apprentice officer on the nowadays-legendary “Liberty” vessels. After almost 20 years of “sea service”, in 1970, he established his own management Company “Laios Maritime Co.” and purchases his first vessel. In April 1989, Cpt. E. Laios established “Venus Enterprises S.A.” under the umbrella of which he manages successfully, until today, a great number of second hand Dry Cargo Vessels.
Mrs Areti Laios holds a BSc in Maritime Studies & Shipping Economics from the University of Piraeus and an MBA from ALBA, Athens. In 1996, after working in the Claims and Legal field in the U.K., she actively joined the Chartering and Legal departments of the Family Company and undertook the gradual restructuring of the Company. Today, she is a part of the Board of Directors of the Company and head of the Chartering and Legal departments. She speaks Spanish (mother tongue), English and French fluently.
Mr. Platon Serfiotis holds a BSc in Maritime Studies & Shipping Economics from the University of Piraeus and a MSc in International Shipping from the University of Plymouth. During his studies, he worked as a trainee in Goldenport Shipmanagement Ltd, Vouliagmeni where he was familiarized with various departments. Upon completion of his studies and military service, he followed Cpt. Nikos Savvas who was about to establish his own management company, where he joined the Company’s Operations department until 2002, when he undertook the position of Operations Manager. In 2011 he joined the management team of Venus Enterprises S.A. as Operations Manager.
Mrs. Anna Spirina graduated from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. She joined Venus Enterprises S.A. in 2011, and is employed in the Crew and Supply departments of the Company. She is currently attending the Annual Professional Maritime Programme of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.
After graduating from the Athens College, Mr. Iraklis Roupas successfully entered the National Technical University of Athens, Greece where he obtained his diploma in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. He joined Venus Enterprises S.A. in April 2007 as an Assistant Superintendent Engineer in the Technical department of the Company. Since 2012 he successfully holds the position of the Technical Manager of the Company.
Mr. Stelios Mellios holds a BSc in Accounting and Economics from the Athens University of Economics and Business/ Economics department (1973-1977). Upon entering the University in 1973, he immediately got a job and started working in Shipping as an Accounting Officer. He is a member of Venus Enterprises S.A. team since 1991.
After graduating from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Mrs. Ifigeneia Melliou joined Venus Enterprises S.A. in 2005 as a trainee. Working at first as an Administrative Assistant, she was gradually familiarized with Operations and Accounting departments. Since 2009 she is the Company’s Accounting Officer.
